Disney originally planned Treasure of the Golden Suns to be a one-off TV Movie, but the outcome of the Produced TV Special was so good, Disney commissioned an entire 65 episode firt season. The Special Episode which went on for 2 hours was split in five half hour shows and the 62 episodes produced were aired over a 13 week period.
